Searching your library for free Auras every time you cast one creates one of the fastest and most explosive Voltron strategies in Commander. On Moxfield’s high-power and competitive charts, Light-Paws, Emperor’s Voice from Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty stands as the premier Mono-White () commander for hyper-efficient enchantment tutoring and lethal Voltron beats.
As a 2/2 Fox Advisor legend costing just two mana (), Light-Paws possesses a devastating trigger: whenever an Aura enters the battlefield under your control (if you cast it), you may search your library for an Aura card with mana value less than or equal to that Aura with a different name from any Aura you control, put it onto the battlefield attached to Light-Paws, and shuffle. Every 1-mana or 2-mana Aura effectively counts as a double-play, fetching protection like Timely Ward or massive damage scaling like Ethereal Armor directly onto the battlefield for zero extra mana.
Here is the strategic operational blueprint of Moxfield’s premier Light-Paws list, detailing how to stack protection, maximize Aura tutors, and secure rapid Commander damage turn-3 knockouts.
1. Core Mechanics & Strategic Phases
Succeeding with Light-Paws requires low-cost artifact acceleration, protection Auras with totem armor or flash, massive stats-scaling enchantments, and evasive abilities.
-
Early Game (Turns 1–2): Play fast mana like Sol Ring or Jeweled Lotus and deploy Light-Paws () on Turn 1 or 2.
-
Mid Game (Turns 3–4): Cast low-cost 1-mana Auras like Hyena Umbra or All That Glitters to trigger Light-Paws, automatically fetching defensive Auras like Timely Ward or evasion like Spirit Mantle.
-
Late Game (Turns 4–5): Scale Light-Paws into an unblockable, indestructible, protection-from-all-colors threat hitting for 21+ Commander damage in a single attack.
2. Moxfield Highlights: Mono-White Aura & Protection Engines
The highest-rated community lists on Moxfield optimize Light-Paws by packing high densities of 1-mana and 2-mana Auras to maximize tutor triggers every single turn.
