Combining full 5-color identity access with party cost reduction and non-stop creature tutoring turns traditional tribal strategies into an unstoppable value engine. On Moxfield’s high-power charts, Tazri, Beacon of Unity from Zendikar Rising stands out as the ultimate commander for Party (Cleric, Rogue, Warrior, Wizard) and Ally tribal synergy.
As a 4/6 Human Warrior legend costing , Tazri benefits from built-in cost reduction: she costs less to cast for each creature in your party, frequently dropping onto the battlefield for just a single white mana. Her activated ability () lets you look at the top six cards of your library to put up to two Cleric, Rogue, Warrior, Wizard, and/or Ally cards directly into your hand. Packed with cheap multi-class creatures, changelings, and fast mana, Tazri keeps your hand perpetually stacked while swarming the pod.
Here is the strategic operational blueprint of Moxfield’s premier Tazri list, detailing how to establish a full party, dig deep for answers, and overwhelm opponents.
1. Core Mechanics & Strategic Phases
Succeeding with Tazri requires low-mana creatures that fulfill party types, changelings that count as every class, and rainbow mana fixes.
-
Early Game (Turns 1–2): Cast low-cost party enablers like Esper Sentinel, Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer, and Universal Automaton (Changeling).
-
Mid Game (Turn 3): Cast Tazri () for cheap thanks to party discount, then immediately hold up mana to activate her digging ability to find key utility creatures.
-
Late Game (Turns 4+): Chain multiple creature spells per turn using Morphon, the Boundless and Changelings, or trigger massive Ally ETB effects like Hagra Diabolist and Halimar Wavewatch to drain or lock out the table.
2. Moxfield Highlights: Party & Ally Synergies
The highest-rated community lists on Moxfield optimize Tazri by running efficient creatures across all four party classes alongside changeling fixers.
Coveted Prize / Archpriest of Iona
Party payoffs. Coveted Prize tutors any card directly to your hand and lets you cast a spell for free if you control a full party.
Universal Automaton / Mirror Entity
Changeling MVP units. Because changelings possess all creature types, they simultaneously count as Clerics, Rogues, Warriors, Wizards, and Allies.
Dockside Extortionist / Thassa’s Oracle
High-tier class creatures. Dockside Extortionist is a Pirate Wizard, providing explosive mana while fulfilling both class requirements and Tazri’s dig target.
Sevinne’s Reclamation / Linvala, Shield of Sea Gate
Protection & recovery. Linvala protects your entire party from wipes, ensuring Tazri’s cost reduction remains active.
