With the official launch of the premier Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes set, competitive players and Marvel fans across the United States and Europe are shifting their focus to a massive tier of open tournament play. Wizards of the Coast’s newest premier competitive circuit, the Magic Spotlight Series is putting the spotlight directly on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
Operating similarly to the legendary Grand Prix events of Magic’s past, the Magic Spotlight Series features open-invite weekend celebrations with massive cash prize pools, exclusive high-value promotional cards, and direct invitations to the Pro Tour.
Optimized to serve as a clean structural reference blueprint on your phone screen, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming Marvel Super Heroes Spotlight events, including dates, exact locations, and prize payouts.
What is the Magic Spotlight Series?
The Magic Spotlight Series consists of massive, open-access, multi-day tournaments centered around specific set themes. You do not need to play through local RCQs to earn an invite, anyone can buy a ticket and play in the main event.
Because the theme of this cycle is Marvel Super Heroes, the competitive formats and structural activities are tailored directly to the new mechanics of the Marvel crossover set.
The premier events feature a $50,000 to $60,000 prize pool alongside unique, collector-quality bronze-and-gold winner trophies embedded with authentic custom gemstones to represent the Infinity Stones.

Understanding the Team Limited Format
Because these flagship Marvel tournaments utilize Team Limited, you must register alongside two teammates to form a three-player roster.
-
On Day 1, your trio opens 12 packs of Marvel Super Heroes and builds three individual 40-card minimum decks out of the shared card pool.
-
Teams play through Swiss rounds, and top-performing rosters advance to Day 2, culminating in an elimination Team Booster Draft for the Top 4 bracket.
3. The Exclusive Marvel Promos and Payouts
The secondary market value for Magic Spotlight promos is incredibly high due to their limited distribution channels and exclusive artwork treatments.
The Tournament Promo Card
Every single player who registers and participates in the main event of a Magic Spotlight: Marvel Super Heroes tournament receives a copy of the exclusive card: Elektra, Daughter of the Hand (illustrated by Alessandra Pisano).
-
Participation Reward: Non-foil copy of the Elektra promo card.
-
Top Performance Reward: The Top 48 teams (Top 144 individual players) receive a highly collectible Traditional Foil version of the Elektra promo.
